How can counselling help you?

Hello, I'm Samantha Ireland and I am a person-centred counsellor for the NHS, officially accredited by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I specialise in counselling, motivational interviewing and a wide range of other techniques designed to help you deal with your problems, whatever they may be.

Research has shown that between 30-50% of adults struggle with emotional issues at some point in their life. At least one in four adults will experience a mental illness in their lifetime. Counselling is proven to significantly reduce negative emotional symptoms and help you experience a higher overall quality of life. In addition to these benefits, counselling helps you understand the underlying issues, which is crucial to you experiencing healing, growth, and positive change.

Whether you’re suffering from anxiety, depression, substance misuse, trauma, self harm, mental health, abuse, or bereavement, I am here to help. I firmly believe any obstacles in your life that are preventing you from reaching your full potential can be overcome with the right support and guidance.
